The Hawthorne Canal Tunnel project is collaborative mosaic work created by volunteers of the local community.
The project is made up of 22 large panels, using over 475 000 individual pieces of materials, to create an underwater scenary of sea creatures.
It has been installed along the Hawthorne Canal tunnel, with an internal story wall placed on the opposite wall - developed using quotations from local residents and the book "Hawthorne Canal - The History of Long Cove Creek."
